WHAT IS EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY
Exercise physiologists hold, at a minimum, a 4 year degree, which equips them with the knowledge and skills to design and deliver exercise programs for people with medical conditions or injuries.
An EP specialises in exercise therapy and lifestyle interventions for those that have developed, or are at risk of developing, chronic and complex medical conditions. Examples of conditions or injuries that exercise physiologists can develop exercise programs for include, but are not limited to: obesity, MS, surgery rehabilitation, strength and conditioning post-injury.
OUR EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY SERVICE
- Assessing the safety of exercise and physical activity interventions.
- Assessing movement capacity of people at all ages and levels of health.
- Exercise intervention and education for those at risk of developing, or those with an existing chronic condition or injury.
- Provision of exercise-based rehabilitation and advice for patients following the acute stage of injury or surgical intervention, or during recovery to restore functional capacity and well-being.
