The first steps to the finish line started at the 42.195 – The Seminar. Attendees learned and were inspired by Olympian, 2hr14 Marathoner and Australia’s fastest 10,000m runner of all time Ben St. Lawrence. Plus clinical advice from some of Australia’s leading running practitioners. It was a must for all coaches, first time runners and those looking to take their running to a new level.
BEN ST. LAWRENCE
Olympian & Oceania Record Holder
Ben St Lawrence is an Australian long-distance runner who specialises in the 5,000m, 10,000 metres and the Marathon. He is the current Australian and Oceanian record holder in the 10,000 metres. St Lawrence competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He has also qualified for two World Championships, two World Cross Country Championships and two Commonwealth Games.
With over 17 years of clinical experience, Richard is one of Australia’s most recognised running massage therapists. He has traveled the world supporting Australia’s 2016 Olympic and 2017 World Cross Country Team.
Dean Huffer is a graduate of the Doctor of Physiotherapy program at Bond University, and also holds a Master’s degree in Exercise Science from Adams State University in Colorado, U.S.A. Dean comes from an athletics background, and was an Australian youth champion and Victorian All Schools champion over middle distance events before going onto compete collegiately in the United States. Dean’s special interests include running injuries, orthopaedics, footwear design and altitude physiology.
John Charles graduated with honours in Podiatry from the University in London, and has since worked in both public and private practice. Additionally, he has completed additional training in dry needling and sports massage, and regularly employs these therapies in his podiatry practice. He has extensive experience in video gait analysis, fitting of athletic footwear, and prescribing orthotics and insoles.
Emily is an experienced Accredited Practicing Dietitian and sports dietitian who is dedicated to helping her clients achieve their sporting performance, health and wellness goals. Emily has a special interest in fuelling for endurance events including distance running, cycling, short and long course triathlon and ultra-endurance events.
